Épreuve. On appelle ainsi, dans certains Ordres religieux, le Temps du noviciat, parce qu'on y éprouve les novices avant de les recevoir à faire profession. Pendant son année de probation. Il désigne aussi le Temps d'épreuve qui précède le noviciat. Il a fait, elle a fait trois mois de probation avant de prendre l'habit.
